This BLOG of the Virtual Daruma Museum is for educational puropses only. Its aim is to tell people about Japan and its culture via the medium of Daruma san.

This blog relies heavily on information and images found in public domains whilst searching the Internet with YAHOO and GOOGLE. I consider this material officially published, like in a book, and will use it as a reference to illustrate my explanations about Daruma San, Fudo-sama and other topics of Japanese Culture.

Since good material tends to disappear again from the internet, I take the liberty to quote extensively.

With some material from online auctions it is difficult quote photos as a proper link, because they are online only a few days. My name is xxxxx and I got your email from your website about Darumas.

I just wanted to say 'hello' and thank you for putting all your knowledge about Darumas on the internet...and in English too. I am going to try and read more of your website to find out more.

Only recently did I find out about the stroy and what it meant. I had always seen them but never knew what the story behind it was. Luckily I will be visiting Japan in a fortnight and I want to take this opportunity to buy a Daruma in Japan. Please could you advise me about what you think?
